Activity description
The students were placed in mixed groups (middle school/high school) and the event organizer explained the instructions, then gave them a backpack with the items they needed to solve the riddles (maps, padlocks, clues, etc.).
The different groups set off from Place du Chapelet, in front of the Goya statue, and then had to solve several riddles linked to Goya's life in the Golden Triangle district of Bordeaux. They were free to move around with the help of clues until they arrived at a final riddle.
Points were awarded for each riddle solved, depending on the speed with which the groups solved it, resulting in a ranking at the end, when all the groups returned to the start of the Escape Game.
The objectives
Have students work in teams to solve the riddles.
Introduce students to Bordeaux and Goya.
Share moments of exchange as part of a visit to Bordeaux.
Back to business
It was a very enriching experience for the students, who were able to discover Bordeaux and Goya's life, as well as working in teams (secondary school students and high school students) to solve the various riddles in the allotted time.
