The ERASMUS+ project: Our ideal school
From April 8 to 12, 2024, the second meeting of the ERASMUS+ CONSORTIUM was held in Italy, in our small but friendly town of Busto Arsizio. The program was rich and intense, and the encounters unforgettable. As in Bordeaux, we were delighted to welcome our French friends from Lycée Nicolas Brémontier, Collège Alain Fournier and École Primaire Cazemajor, our Portuguese partners from Lycée, Collège and École Primaire de Fafe, and pupils from Bertacchi elementary school and collège.
Outings & visits
The days spent together were really intense and very demanding, but we found time to show our partners what Busto Arsizio and the surrounding area have to offer.
On the afternoon of April 9, an enthusiastic guide introduced us to the history of fencing. After visiting the museum, despite the pouring rain, we were able to stroll through the streets of the city center.
The day trip to Milan was also unforgettable. We enjoyed the beauty of the Castello Sforzesco, the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, Corso Como, the Isola district, Brera and the breathtaking Piazza Duomo.

What is a DEBATE?
A debate is a structured activity in which two or more people discuss a specific topic according to predetermined rules. As a general rule, a debate follows an organized format, comprising a preparation phase, an argument presentation phase, a rebuttal phase and a conclusion phase.
During a debate, participants seek to persuade the audience or jury of the validity of their opinions or ideas by using evidence, logical reasoning and convincing rhetoric.
logical reasoning and convincing rhetoric. Participants often have a time limit within which to present their ideas and respond to the other side's arguments. Debates can cover a wide range of subjects, from politics to philosophy, ethics to science.
They provide an excellent opportunity to develop critical thinking, persuasion and effective communication skills, as they require you to analyze and argue complex issues clearly and convincingly.
We did it! Thanks to the advice and teaching of experienced teachers, we learned this fascinating art. It was wonderful to work with our partners on the second part of the Erasmus+ project "connecting with others". At first, it wasn't easy to overcome shyness and fear of public speaking, but thanks to everyone's support, it turned out to be a fantastic and rewarding experience!
A lesser-known sport: fencing!
Thanks to the Erasmus project, Our Ideal European School, we've learned that being in contact with others also means respecting the rules. To achieve this objective, we took up a lesser-known sport: fencing!
The initial salute, the respect for the opponent, the striking in turn and the final salute, give us valuable indications and behaviors to apply every day in our daily lives.

And there's more to come...
101 Dalmatians! Just like the title of one of Disney's most famous cartoons. Why, you may ask? Let me explain right away: like all good things, this week flew by. To round it off in the best possible way, we all celebrated together on the evening of April 11. And when I say "all", I mean even the "little partners" from the primary and secondary schools involved in the project - and there were over 101 of us! It was a real party: pizzas, focaccias, cooked pasta, drinks, good music, and the urge to dance late into the night. We really enjoyed ourselves. The farewell party marked only the end of this second adventure, ready to begin again in October in Portugal.
We're ready, aren't you?
