Visite to Guimarães

Description

We went on a stchool trip to Guimarães, a city full of history and culture, known as the birthplace of Portugal. Our journey began with a visit to the imposing Guimarães Castle, one of the most emblematic monuments in the country. From the top of the walls, we had a magnificent view over the city, which allowed us to imagine what life would have been like in medieval times. Next, we head to the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a magnificent 15th century building.

After these cultural visits, we began a lovely peddy paper around the Historic Center of Guimarães. Divided into groups, we followed clues and challenges that led us to discover enchanting corners of the city. We passed through Praça de Santiago, one of the most picturesque in Guimarães, where we admired the beauty of the old facades. We explored Rua de Santa Maria, one of the oldest in the city, and learned interesting facts about historical buildings and personalities that left their mark on Guimarães.
